Our new police liaison, Officer Wessendorf has agreed to continue sending us crime maps to show us where crime has taken place in our area. He usually leaves me a message along with the maps, which I normally add here, right before the new map postings. Please take the time to read what he says.

REMEMBER! When calling in a concern, you can request that your name be anonymous. Anytime you think something suspicious or illegal is going on around you, it is important to call. BY THE WAY...I still have some really nice neighborhood watch "static" (not sticky) decals that you can place on your front door or window, or on your back sliding door if you'd like one. Contact us either by phone (leave a message), or email with your name and address, so that we'll know where you are, and we'll get one to you while the supply lasts.

Our last police call sheet received (for the month of February), had 14 calls from our plat. A couple of calls were to report a suspicious persons and vehicles in the neighborhood, and the rest were personal, domestic sort of calls...nothing crime-related, but need for a peace officer.

Officer Wessendorf emailed me this message:

We haven't received crime maps for a while...when new ones are sent, I'll install them quickly. I also received an email from our current "new" police liaison. It appears that he's received a promotion and will no longer be in charge of neighborhood watch...however, he will stay in this position until a replacement is found. Congratulations, Craig! Hopefully we'll have a replacement soon!

This FIRST map simply marks where Southland neighborhood is located on these maps. It will give you an indication where we are in relation to where the crimes took place. If you look on the center pink square on the map, you will see a darker pink circle. That is where our neighborhood is. One map shows auto crime, and the other "building crimes", which includes residential homes. This map will always stay posted so that you'll have a reference point.
